A

Accident

An accident is an unexpected event or circumstance without deliberate intent.

Adjuster

An Adjuster is an insurance company representative who investigates claims and makes settlement recommendations based on the estimate of the damages and the company's liability.

Claim

A claim is a request made by the insured for insurer remittance of payment due to loss incurred and covered under the policy agreement.

FA

Field Adjuster A Field Adjuster, Claims adjuster, or claims handler, investigates insurance claims by interviewing the claimant and witnesses, consulting police and hospital records, and inspecting property damage to determine the extent of the company's liability. Just remember, FA's have names too ;)

NI

Named InsuredAny person, firm, or organization, or any of its members specifically designated by name as an insured(s) in an insurance policy, as distinguished from others that, although unnamed, fall within the policy definition of an "insured." In short, the NI is the policy holder.
